In most cases height and slew limiters/restrictors are fitted to single boom excavators or the like that are working in confined spaces, tunnels, rail infrastructure or worksites that requires ultimate safety precautions to avoid damage to persons, other machines & infrastructure.

How does a Height Limiter/Restrictor & Slew Limiter/Restrictor Work

The Height Limiter allows the operator to pre define a set working height on a piece of equipment that hydraulically will not allow that piece of equipment to go above the set height.

The Slew Limiter also allows the operator to pre set the swing or slew action of the piece of equipment so it cannot over swing hydraulically past those hold points.

The Bucket Crowd Limiter Function works the same way which is mainly used on excavators to stop oversized attachments that are longer than the normal bucket application from crowding up to far and damaging the attachment , hydraulic ram , boom arm or hi-rail assemblies.
